Elemental Enzymes was founded in 2011 by Drs. Brian and Katie Thompson. Brian had performed extensive research on biological structures as a researcher at Kansas State University and the University of Missouri. During this period, Brian and Dr. George Stewart came across key discoveries related to the identification of novel genes and processes associated with a protein production system that creates and stabilizes enzymes and other proteins.
Brian and Katie licensed this initial technology from the University of Missouri and launched Elemental Enzymes using this technology as a novel production platform to develop stabilized biological molecules.
Elemental Enzymes produced its first agricultural product concept in 2012. The product substantially increased the yield of a variety of row crops during 2013 field testing. Also in 2013, Elemental Enzymes partnered with agriculture industry veteran, Jim Zimmer, to begin the commercialization of new products through its subsidiary, Elemental Enzymes Ag and Turf, LLC.
The company continues to grow and has created new partnerships after launching its VersaShield® technology platform. Elemental Enzymes has submitted nine global patent applications and eleven national patent applications related to VersaShield® and its biological library.
